Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating and why it is a good way to heat your home.

Firstly, lets look at what it is:

Underfloor heating is an electrical heating cable that is either placed on the concrete slab of your floor or is placed between a double sided aluminum foil that is installed between the under felt and carpeting.

Why is this a better way of heating a room than a conventional heater?:

Hot air rises and circulates in a room. Thus, when the heating is coming from the lowest point in the room, the floor, it rises and circulates throughout the room in an even and effective manner. Unlike conventional heaters, this is a very effective way to heat the entire ambient temperature of the room.

We lay the elements on the floor and cover roughly 60-70% of the floor surface. Thus, the heat is distributed evenly throughout the area. Conventional heaters are generally most effective for the person that is standing directly in its path. Underfloor heating is able to be felt throughout the entire area.

Health benefits:

Underfloor heating does not dry out the air like an air-con or other blowing heaters do. Thus, asthma sufferers and people with allergies do not feel uncomfortable in an area that has been heated in this manner.

Furthermore, because we stick to an international guide line of 1KW of heating power for every 10/12m2 of room space, underfloor heating will never cost you a fortune to run.

Underfloor heating is hidden beneath the floor. Thus, it is unobtrusive, safe and almost undetectable. Lastly, we sell a wide range of digital thermostats to control your heating. Thus making it an attractive addition to any home.
